Faiza Waheed is a senior environmental health scientist and a leader in health impact assessment (HIA), with over a decade of experience advancing health, equity, and wellbeing across major infrastructure, resource development, and policy initiatives. She specializes in integrating human health considerations into impact assessment processes, with a focus on Indigenous and community health, climate change, and the built environment.

With training in culturally responsive engagement, Dr. Waheed brings extensive experience working with Indigenous Rightsholders and equity-deserving communities. Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally respectful engagement practices, supported by on-the-ground experience facilitating surveys, focus groups, interviews, and participatory workshops.

Dr. Waheed holds a PhD in Cell Biology and a Master of Environmental Science from the University of Toronto, and completed postdoctoral training in Health Impact Assessment at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
