Art Materials
According to the Labeling of Hazardous Art Materials Act (LHAMA), art materials sold in the United States must undergo toxicological risk assessment by a Board Certified Toxicologist to evaluate their potential to cause chronic adverse health effects to consumers. As part of the evaluation, the toxicologist must also recommend appropriate warning statements to conform to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) designated D-4236.
