Dr. Lindsay McCallum is an Environmental Health Scientist and the Health Impact Assessment (HIA) Lead at Intrinsik Corp.  Her primary focus is on the assessment of potential human health impacts resulting from projects and policies across a variety of sectors. Specifically, Lindsay uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches to assess both positive and negative health outcomes, and identifies specific measures to enhance or mitigate those outcomes to promote community health. Dr. McCallum has also had extensive experience engaging a diversity of stakeholders in different stages of the assessment process.

Dr. McCallum has conducted doctoral research in the field of HIA and has published several scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. Her research and ongoing work focus on the development and application of HIA methods and tools for the assessment of health outcomes, promoting sustainable development within Canada and abroad.

Experience Highlights

  • Completed several human health assessments to identify and evaluate potential positive and negative health outcomes of projects and policies.
  • Developed recommendations and mitigation measures in response to health assessment findings.
  • Extensive public consultation and risk communication experience with various stakeholders, including First Nations and other communities across Canada.

  • Invited to speak at several international conferences, graduate lectures and government/public health seminars.
