Henry Yee is an Environmental Health Scientist and Risk Assessor at Intrinsik Corp. whose primary focus is human health and ecological risk assessments (HHERAs) of contaminated properties in Ontario (under O.Reg. 153/04, as amended) and across Canada (under the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan).  Henry also has extensive experience conducting HHERAs for industrial waste facilities, proposed energy-from-waste facilities, proposed SAGD oil sands projects, and proposed mining operations.

Henry frequently interacts on behalf of clients with regulatory agencies such as the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC), Health Canada, and Toronto Public Health.  In addition, Henry has assisted regulatory agencies with the development of soil quality guidelines, policy development, and peer-review of risk assessment models.

Experience Highlights

  • Over 100 human health and ecological risk assessments for contaminated properties in Ontario and across Canada.
  • Over 20 human health and ecological risk assessments successfully completed under O.Reg. 153/04 to support brownfields redevelopment, property transaction, and financial lending.
  • Developer of project-specific environmental fate and transport models and multiple exposure pathway models for human health and ecological risk assessments of large-scale industrial projects.

  • B.Sc. (Honours), Biochemistry and Environmental Biology, University of Toronto
  • M.Env.Sc., Environmental Science, University of Toronto
  • Qualified Person for Risk Assessment as defined by the Environmental Protection Act of Ontario (Brownfields Legislation; O.Reg. 153/04)
